What's the Hype About NAD+

There is a recent buzz around the coenzyme NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and for good reason. This molecule has been involved in a lot of aging and longevity research. Although it's role in extending the lifespan or significantly altering aging is still under investigation the results are promising for those on their quest to better health. NAD+ levels steadily decline as we age, raising these levels can have a profound effect on your wellbeing. Here are a few highlights:

Brain Health: NAD+ may play a role in maintaining brain health and cognitive function. Having adequate levels can improve neuronal health and protect against neurodegenerative diseases.

Metabolic Health: Influences glucose and lipid metabolism and regulates blood sugar levels.

Liver Health: protects the liver from fat accumulation, fibrosis, and insulin resistance, which are related to the development of fatty liver diseases, such as NAFLD and NASH.

While these studies are ongoing the results thus far on aging and longevity are exciting. Supplementing with this coenzyme could potentially contribute to a decreased risk of age-related diseases. In addition boosting your levels might help counteract some effects of aging, improve health and potentially extend lifespan.

My take? Say no more, I am in. I am all about a good "fountain of youth." But in all seriousness I have been taking advantage of this supplement for the past three months. Benefits I have noticed are improved sleep, increased energy and decreased sugar cravings.
